Being distracted from your goals is one of the biggest problems we all face, and I’m going to talk about the biggest distraction of all … LIFE!

Yeah, you heard me life … life has a tendancy to distract you from your goals. You’ve got all these wonderful ideas of what you want to achieve in life, all these goals, yet you find yourself getting caught up in the house work, in your job, in the shopping, in going out with your friends, in your kids, in …

You know what I mean, don’t you?

Life throws challenges at you to see if you are serious about your goals and attempts to distract your from achieving them.

Why would life do that, you may ask. It doesn’t sound very fair.

Honestly, I have no idea, but I know it does. I think it’s part of a testing process, to see if you are serious about your goals and really wanting to achieve them. They do say that if you get something too easily, you’ll not appreciate it, which I feel is right. When you’ve had to struggle and work for a goal, you really value it when you get there.

Whatever the reason, the reality is that life does distract you from your goals and distract you rather well.

So what can you do to avoid these distractions?

You could try living in a cave in a loincloth, but how long before getting cold or missing your creature comforts distracts you I don’t know.

A more practical method is the baby step method. It’s about taking one step at a time, taking one small action at a time that brings you closer to your goals.

I have a friend who wants to be financially free. Some years ago he had a brain tumour removed, woke up from the operation and realised that working himself to death for someone else was not what life was about. So he decided he was going to become financially free and enjoy life.

I’ve spent a lot of time interviewing this friend because his attitude to life is infectious to say the least.

Anyway, his tactic is to make sure that every single day he does a minimum of one thing that brings him closer to his goal of financial freedom.

It doesn’t matter if it’s a big thing or a small thing, so long as every single day he does just one thing.

Interestingly, he’s been doing this for about three or four years now and is getting close to being able to quit his day job and have enough income from other sources to support himself.

Sure he may have been able to achieve it quicker by doing more each day, but he may well have overwhelmed himself and not done anything.

His simple strategy has allowed him to replace his day job income in 3 or 4 years and makes sure he’s happy and enjoys life.

Now life is going to distract you from your goals, but just vow to do one thing every single day that brings you closer to your goals … in a year you will be 365 steps closer, in ten years 3650 steps closer … and I wonder how many steps it will actually take for you to reach your goal?

There are a lot of people who talk about positive thinking and staying positive, and do you know what, it is easy to do.

When things are going well for you.

When you are healthy.

When you have money.

When you are not worrying about how to feed your children.

The real test of your positive nature comes when you face adversity. When things start going wrong. That is when it is not so easy for you to stay positive, but when you most need to stay positive.,

When things start to go wrong, when you lose your job or someone close to you is seriously ill, or you realise you can’t feed your family, that’s when you are truly tested to see just how committed you are to being positive.

Are you able to stay positive when things go wrong?

You may find you have a moment (or two) when it all gets on top of you and you can’t cope, and that is fine. You are, after all, human and are allowed to feel a bit of despair. We all do it.

But when that moment is over, your fighting spirit comes back, you become positive again and you push back against the circumstances and make it work your way. You take the proverbial bull by the horns and make success happen.

I don’t know all of you personally yet, but I know that adversity does strike. It strikes us all, and usually when we least expect it. It often happens just when we think things are all fantastic and happy, and then it hits us.

If you are facing adversity in your life, I’m not telling you to be positive and ignore the problems.

Tony Robbins said that positive thinking is like gardening. You can’t weed your garden by pretending there are no weeds! You have to take action.

If you have a problem, being positive and pretending it isn’t there isn’t going to make it go away. It will still be there when you open your eyes and stop pretending.

Face the problem, stay positive as you are facing it and solve it in the best possible way for yourself and the people around you.

You can do it.

The universe doesn’t send us problems that we can’t handle. We may think they are unsurmountable, but they are not, we can overcome them.

Remember that thought as you face the problems in your life – the problems you have are there for a reason. What is it you are meant to learn from them?

Ask yourself the question, “What is good about this situation?” and it will help you to remain positive and overcome the problems you are facing.

Life has a habit of presenting us with challenges.

Some are challenges we are happy to accept. Some are challenges we would rather avoid.

If we want to achieve anything in life we are going to have to face some challenges that we would perhaps prefer not to.

How you approach these challenges is really up to you. You can approach them in such a way that it makes them enjoyable and fun or you can approach them in such a way as they destroy your life.

Events have no meaning except those which you give to them.

Quite literally.

An event only has the meaning that you decide it has. If you decide it is a good, then it is. If you decide it is bad, then it is.

These challenges are exactly the same. You can choose to look at them as massive, insurmountable problems that are going to wreck your life because they are getting in the way of your goals.

Or you can look at them as interesting challenges which help you get to your goals as a stronger, better person.

Which is going to make your day more fun?

For the next few days, every time you encounter a situation that could be termed a problem or a challenge, whether it is in your business or personal life or even something as simple as someone cutting you up on the freeway, think about.

Decide what meaning you want to give the event and give it one that makes you feel good. Instead of swearing at the drive that cut you up and letting them ruin your day, perhaps you could just interpret the event as they were tired or in a hurry or didn’t notice you and luckily you missed having an accident.

The more positive approach will put you in a better mood and help you to face these daily challenges much better. In fact, after just a short period you will find it so much easier to overcome the challenges in your life.

If you don't make changes at a sub-conscious level then you are going to struggle to make the changes last. Learn how to work with your sub-conscious to make the changes inside out.

Many of us want to make changes in our lives – I am sure you do to.

Maybe it is to stop smoking, lose weight, earn more money, change job, stop procrastinating or any number of things.

Most people try to make changes in their life and find it hard and even fail. They try their hardest and do everything they can in order to succeed and find that they get nowhere. Or maybe they make the change for a few days and then start to slip back into the old habits.

There’s a reason for this and one you can relatively easily overcome.

You have a conscious mind and a sub-conscious mind and in order for any change to take place they have to both “agree” on the change and the desired outcome.

Your conscious mind is the part that is chatting away to you all day long. It is constantly asking questions and evaluating everything that goes on.

Your sub-conscious mind is the part that runs your body. It controls your breathing, your heartbeat, your fingernails growing. It is surprisingly powerful and compared to the conscious mind very quiet.

You can consciously decide to make changes in your life but if your sub-concious does not agree then you are setting yourself up for failure, unless you can convince it otherwise.

The best way to change your sub-conscious mind is to use subliminal hypnotic messages. These can be listened to at pretty much any time and whereas your conscious mind hears music or other backgrounds sounds your sub-conscious hears the embedded subliminal messages and changes start to happen.

You may wake up one morning and suddenly feel different or you may start to notice differences.

The procrastinator finds themselves naturally making decisions and taking action – without consciously thinking of it.

The smoker finds themselves wanting to smoke less – without really thinking about it.

The dieter finds themselves eating less and more healthily – without really thinking about it.

I’ve sourced an comprehensive range of subliminal hypnotic mp3’s that you can download instantly and start listening to today that are really effective and will help you to make any changes you want in your life.

Go to http://www.MusicForChange.com now and have a look through the hundreds of products on that site – you will find something for everything you want to change and all very effective.

Hypnosis directly accesses your sub-conscious mind and helps you to make changes from the inside out, which gives you more chance of succeeding and making the change stick.

I’ve been in business for many years now and I’ve seen people come and go. I’ve seen businesses succeed and fail, and there is one thing that I’ve noticed about all else.

Easy is not necessarily the easiest path!

So many people set about doing something because they think it will be easy. However, the easy things are usually chased by most people who are also thinking it’s the easy option.

When you set your goals and dreams for your life, if you make them too easy you are going to be struggling for attention with the thousands and millions of other people who are all heading for the easy option.

There are many people who want to become a millionaire or earn a six figure income. Lots of people shoot for that goal and the arena is crowded.

How many people aim to be a billionaire? Or a decamillionaire (ten million) or more?

Very few.

This will sound odd to you, but it is actually easier to achieve a harder goal than it is an easy goal.

If your goal is too easy you don’t put in the effort, there is the temptation to sit on your laurels and wait for it to happen.

If your goal is hard then you have a challenge, something to aim for, something you KNOW you have to work to achieve.

There is an ancient Chinese proverb which has always stuck in my mind since the day I heard it. It is one I often say to people and get the strangest of looks.

“May all your dreams come true, except one”

Someone who has achieved all their dreams (goals) has nothing to live for. It is that striving for a goal, the need to achieve that tells us we are alive. Mankind, as a race, has developed through struggle.

In times of peace and easy living, mankind stagnates and doesn’t feel the need to push forward as a whole. A few individuals do and will continue to strive, but they have their own driving factors.

You should always have a goal that is just outside of your reach, something that you need to stretch out for because it will give you a reason for living, it will make you feel alive and it will keep pushing you forwards.

When you are setting your goals and working out what you want from life, dream big. If you don’t ask, you won’t get.

There is less competition for the big dreams, less people who try for them, which bizarrely, makes them much easier to achieve!

You can learn more about setting and achieving goals, including the inside track on how to rapidly achieve them with this goal setting program.

Ultimately, there is one thing you need to do if you want to succeed.

Doesn’t matter what it is you want to succeed at, whether it is being a millionaire, being happy, building a business, or finding the partner of your dreams.

There is just a single thing you need to do.

You need to focus on it with laser like intensity and make sure your every waking moment is focused on it.

Weigh up every action you take and see if it will take you closer or further away from your desired target. If it will take you closer, do it. If it won’t, don’t.

Simple huh?

In real life it is much harder for people because life gets in the way or they don’t actually know what it is they want.

Life is full of distractions, it’s one of the great things about it, and if you let it, life will distract you completely from your desired goal and you’ll never get there. Or at the very least, you’ll realise you didn’t get there just a little bit too late.

Life is going to throw curve balls at you and try to take you away from your desired goal. It’s going to happen, but if you really want to get there then you need to focus your mind on it and make it happen.

Some years ago I decided I wanted to build a successful business and make a difference in people’s lives. I sat down and worked solid for about two weeks on a plan and building a business.

Then life interfered and I got distracted and started working half heartedly on the business.

Two years later I realised I was no closer to my goal so started to work furiously again towards it. Life again distracted me and I got caught up in everything else and my goal slipped to the back of my mind.

This cycle repeated itself a half dozen times before I realised what was going on and decided to make some serious changes.

I sat down and made a proper step by step plan to reach my goal and spent time every single day working towards it. I will sit up after midnight just to do my actions for the day so I get closer to my goal. I will get up at 5am in order to do what I need to do for the day.

I am constantly thinking about my goals and life still distracts me and gives me other things to think about. My little boy has chicken pox now and a cold and isn’t very well, but I write this as I sit near his room ready to go in to him when he disturbs in his sleep.

Anthony Robbins is known for saying “If you are committed you will find a way” and at the time I first heard this (8 years ago) I disagreed and had lots of excuses. I had lots of “I can’ts” and good reasons (read excuses) why he was wrong.

It’s only in the last few months that I’ve really understood what he meant by this. When you stop making excuses to yourself (and that’s the only person you are making excuses to) and focus your intention laser like at your goal then you will find a way.

You will do whatever it takes when it stops being a nice to have to something you’d like to do and becomes an absolute must. When this happens, the excuses stop, the distractions fade and you make it happen.

Think about the things you want in life and ask yourself this …

1) Do you really want it? I mean really, can’t live without having it, want it?

2) What do you need to do in order to make it happen?

3) How can you make this happen?

You may be surprised how much slack time you have in your day to make your dreams come true. Read books in the toilet. Listen to audio programs in the car when commuting to work. Switch the TV off and work towards your goal. Find a mentor to help you.

If you are committed then you will find a way.

I promise you.

Decide what you want.

Commit to it.

Take whatever steps you need in order to get there.

What do you want in life and how committed are you? Are you going to achieve it?

There is, at the end of the day, only one way to lose weight, unless you are going to have weight loss surgery.

There is, at the end of the day, only one way to lose weight, unless you are going to have weight loss surgery.

That is, to eat less and burn more calories.

Sound simple, doesn’t it?

If it was that simple, we would all be walking around as size 0 supermodels. Sadly, weight loss is not that easy and is much more involved.

The problem is that eating is addictive. Most of the food we like and enjoy are fattening and not very good for us at all. Eating healthily can take a lot of effort, particularly when the people around you aren’t doing the same.

With hypnosis, you can change the underlying mental patterns that are associated with food and start to eat in a more healthy fashion. Weight loss isn’t about short term dieting and weight yo-yoing.

If you want to maintain your ideal weight then you have to make long term changes not only to your eating habits, but to your exercise regime as well.

This can be done easily through easy weight loss programs such as the Rapid Weight Loss binaural subliminal hypnosis program available at Music For Change. Hypnosis works on with your sub-conscious mind to help change habits and patterns so that you can lose the weight you want quickly and easily.

All around you all the time are potentially hundreds of money making ideas on opportunities, the trouble is you just don’t see them!

It’s true! You don’t because you are not focused on them.

Instead you may well be focused on the lack of money in your life and all you see is more of that lack and find things that take money away from you instead of seeing just how much abundance there is around you.

As an example a few months ago I fell in love with a particular type of Mercedes – the CLS – to me it was a lovely looking car that immediately went on my vision board. I’d never seen one before and assumed they were very rare.

Do you realise that in the next week I saw a half dozen of these cars every single day? I’d never seen one before but they were all around me all the time, they had just never registered on my consciousness.

It’s the same with money making opportunties. A few months ago I was in a position where I needed some extra cash quick.

I set my intention and my focus and I couldn’t believe the opportunities that came my way, opportunities that had literally been staring me in the face and opportunities that came out of the blue. Within a couple of weeks I had raised the extra cash I needed quite easily.

If you need some extra money in your life then set your intention and your focus on making it happen, because it will. You will be surprised what you can manifest!

Have you ever wondered what you could achieve if you really put your mind to it?

I mean REALLY put your mind to it.

Do you think you could achieve anything?

And I mean ANYTHING?

Of course you could.

If you put your mind to it and take consistent and massive action then you could achieve absolutely anything you desire. There really are no limits to what you could achieve.

The majority of people have no belief in themselves and do not believe they can do anything. Some people don’t believe they can be happy, some don’t believe they can be loved, some don’t believe they can’t be rich.

Whatever you believe, you are right!

Sit down right now and think about what you really want to achieve in life, and I mean REALLY WANT, not just would be nice to have.

Think about it and then make a decision to take action and to make it happen. You can do it.

In fact, you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to … absolutely anything … there are no limits except those you chose to accept.

You can change your mind and change your life with any of my powerful hypnotic audio programs, available at www.MusicForChange.com.

I always read about how people would visualise their business as being successful and it would be successful. I honestly thought it was hogwash and that there was no way just thinking about your business being successful would make it successful.

I’d read a lot of personal development books which all said you should visualise yourself achieving your goals.

Like most people, I’d never really tried it myself thinking it was rubbish and some mumbo-jumbo.

I can remember the first day I tried this for myself.

I’d been in business about four years and had managed to make a spectacular loss every year and was in a position where I either made it or declared myself bankrupt. I read another book telling me about visualisation and that I had to visualise myself being successful and my business earning money.

At this stage I had nothing to lose and would have run around a tree waving a wet fish in the air if I thought it was going to make me successful, so I sat down and visualised.

I focused my mind on my business making sales, of people coming to my websites and clients flooding through the door with money for me.

I must admit, it did make me feel a bit uncomfortable. There was a part of me that doubted it, but I kept going for ten or fifteen minutes.

Within the next 24 hours my business made more money that it had made in the last 2 months!

I couldn’t believe it! I had made hundreds of dollars in 24 hours doing very little different, except for visualising my business making money.

Naturally, I was a convert and have been telling everyone about it ever since … and if you are reading this then I urge you to GIVE IT A GO! You literally have nothing to lose except ten or fifteen minutes of your time, and you have everything to gain!
